G'day, I'm Marshall and I'm the Owner and Developer here at MM4X4 Vehicle Electronics

I've been developing products for MM4X4 since 2017, and we now have well over 1000 units that have been distributed around the Globe.

I often get asked what my background is and it always surprises people. I'm a qualified Engineer with Degrees in Electronics and Computing. I started in Defence R&D for 10 years, followed by 20 years as an engineering manager in $1B+ high-tech Defence projects of which the last 15 years were as an Executive, managing multi-disciplinary teams of up to ??? Engineers. My areas of expertise are airborne radar, mission simulators, military vehicles and HF radar, and now, automated, digital lockup kits for 4WD automatic transmissions.

After a few years of perfecting the kit for the Mitsubishi Pajero NT+, I decided to concentrate on the MM4X4 business full-time due to the the product's popularity, and the business has grown by  ????000% in that time.  

So how'd I get into the lockup kit business?  I originally designed a press button lockup kit for my Mitsubishi Pajero NP (??? transmission) due to transmission overheating issues when towing our family-sized caravan. When we upgraded to the Pajero NX (AISIN transmission), the next generation in lockup kits was born!

 

Necessity is the mother of invention, as they say.

 

Hence, the initial Mitsubishi background.

 

Our kits are the only lockup kits in the world that work properly in Mitsubishi’s with an AISIN transmission.

More recently I became a very proud owner of a 2016 LC200. The transmission is pretty ordinary and I’ve designed lockup-mate®PLUS+ to make a huge improvement to driveability, and not just when towing. Because of the digital comms with vehicle ECUs, lockup-mate®PLUS+ is advanced and can properly integrate with the vehicle; to avoid harsh gear changes and engine error lights, and it unlocks when needed to protect the transmission or provide better responsiveness. It’s very user friendly. You can just turn it on and leave it.
